15 days Uganda

Day 1: On arrival, your driver/guide will pick you up from Entebbe Airport and take you to your accommodation for check in and overnight.

Day 2: Entebbe > Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park This morning after your breakfast, set off towards Northwestern Uganda past the Luwero triangle, Nakasongola, to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. On arrival, do the Rhino tracking then continue on to the northern part of Murchison falls National park. Check in the accommodation for dinner . Later, go for the evening game drive. Return to the accommodation for overnight.

Day 3: Murchison Falls National Park. Leave early in the morning for a morning game drive in the Delta area, in search for wildlife that includes Elephants, Buffaloes, Waterbucks, Giraffes, Oribis, Hart beasts, Kobs, Warthogs, Lions, Jackals, Leopards according to the luck of the day and a variety of savannah and woodland birds can be seen. The drive normaly takes 3 – 4 hours according to how much you see and the interest you have in them. We have lunch and later go for the afternoon boat cruise towards the bottom of the falls. Continue on an evening game drive on the way back to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: > Hoima. Today we enter the park very early in the morning and do a game drive on the way to the 7:00 am ferry. Cross south and drive to the top of the breathtakingly violent Murchison water falls. Watch out for the tsetse flies though. After satisfactorily marveling at this wonder of nature, continue out of the park through the southern gate and drive past traditional homesteads and farmland to Hoima to check into the accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: > Fort Portal. Wake up early for breakfast then drive on to Fort Portal, a cool district nestled in the shadows of the fabled mountains of the moon. After checking in, you can go visit the town. Dinner and overnight at the accommodation.

Day 6:> Semiliki National Park. Have breakfast, pack your lunch, and drive to Semiliki National Park. Pick a ranger at the Sempaya ranger office and drive to the Kirumia trail for a refreshing nature walk. After which, you will proceed to the Male and Female hot springs of Sempaya, a natural occurrence. These natural springs have a geyser shooting up from an 8m-wide hole at a hot temperature.  Along the trail, do not miss the birdlife like blue –breasted kingfisher and Frasier’s ant-thrush and primates like the grey-checked mangabey and red-tailed monkey. If time allows, visit the local Batwa pygmies for an insight into their lives in a cultural experience. Check in the accommodation for dinner and  overnight.

 Day 7: > Kibale Chimpanzee Tracking. Wake up early in the morning for breakfast then with your protective clothes on and enough drinking water, head to Kanyanchu trail head for a briefing before you start your guided chimpanzee tracking through this age-old forest. The beauty of this tracking is that you will get to view other primates and bird life as well not just the Chimpanzees. Return in the afternoon for lunch before going out yet again this time to the Bigodi swamp for a nature walk. Dinner and overnigh at the accommodation.

Day 8: > Transfer to Queen Elisabeth National Park. Leave this morning for Queen Elizabeth National Park, via Top of the world where you can have a spectacular view of all the craters as far as your eyes can see. Arrive at the park and have lunch then go for an evening game drive. Dinner and overnight at the accommodation.

Day 9: Queen Elisabeth National Park. The day begins early with an early breakfast and then go for the morning game drive towards the Kasenyi plains in search for wildlife that includes the Buffaloes, Water Buck, Kobs, Hyenas, Warthogs, Lions and Leopards among others. And for Birds lovers, you will like it because this Park is said to have a very high concentration of birdlife. Continue to Kikorongo Women Group where you will spend the afternoon. Return to your accommodation with an evening game drive. Dinner and overnight.

Day 10: > Ishasha. After breakfast, pack some lunch and drive South to Ishasha sector. On arrival, pick a ranger to go in search of the tree climbing lions. They rest in the trees in the afternoon so this is the best time to view them. You can have your lunch picnic while on the game drive. Dinner and overnight at the accommodation.

Day 11: Bwindi > Rushaga sector. Have an early breakfast and drive south to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park. Pass Buhoma and Ruhija on the way to Rushaga sector. Dinner and overnight and the accommodation.

 Day 12: Rushaga – Gorilla Tracking. The gorilla tracking activity will start off early morning with breakfast, put on protective clothes, walking shoes and carry enough drinking water and packed lunch, then drive to Rushaga visitor’s reception for briefing before you proceed some kilometers from the reception to the trail head where you will commence the tracking activity. Return and rest for the day after the long walk. Dinner and overnight at the accommodation.

Day 13:>Lake Mburo National Park. Breakfast then leave for Lake Mburo National Park via the rolling hills of Kabale with a lunch break at Igongo Cultural Centre in Mbarara (Biharo town Centre). Proceed to Lake Mburo, on arrival, check into your accommodation, then later go for the night game drive. Dinner and overnight.

Day 14: > Transfer to Kampala. Wake up early to go for the  morning Game walk  on the shores of Lake Mburo in search for  wildlife that  includes; The Zebras,  Impalas,  Reedbuck, Zebra, Elands, Topis, Buffaloes, Warthogs, Waterbuck, Dwarf Mongoose,  Statungas Cliffspringers, Buffaloes and  Leopards  among  other  mammals and  a variety  of bird life that includes  the Red-faced Barbet, Emerald-sported Dove, Coqui Francolin, Brown-chested Lapwing, Lilac-breasted Roller, Papyrus  Gonolake and the rare Shoebill Stork among others.  We go back to the hotel for breakfast, then start the drive to Kampala with a stop at the Equator for photographs, coffee and some snacks. Dinner and overnight at the accommodation.

Day 15: End of the safari .Today, depending on your flight time, go on a Kampala city tour, areas to visit include the craft Markets, Cathedrals, Nakasero market, Palace, Uganda Museum, Gadhafi Mosque to mention but a few depending on your time of flight. Drop of at your hotel for some days of relaxing or transfer to the airport for your flight home or other destination.
