7 Days Bird Safari

crownbirdUganda is a home to over half of Africa’s bird population, different bird species, both indigenous and the international immigrants . In this Itinerary, we take you to the best birding sites, with our well trained and experienced guides you will get the best birding experience!

Day 1: Entebbe You’ll arrive at Entebbe International Airport where you’ll be met by our birding guide and brought to your hotel for check in and a briefing on your itinerary. Dinner and overnight at the accommodation according your preferences ( low budget-midrange of high class standard)

Day 2: You’ll go birding on the Entebbe beaches of Lake Victoria, the Entebbe Botanical Gardens, Nabinoya, and the Uganda Wildlife Education Centre. Overnight at Entebbe. Half board meals.

Day 3: You’ll head to the Mabamba Swamp situated about 15 kms west of Entebbe. The Swamp is an ideal place for bird watching, rich in bird species including the White-winged Warbler, papyrus Gonolek, yellow-backed Weaver, Blue-headed Coucal and other swamp bird species. You’ll go in a canoe in order to view the birds and hopefully you’ll even spot the rare Shoebill. Other special birds to look out for include Swamp Fly-catcher, African Water Rail, Lesser Jacana, African Jacana, Black Crack and Squacco Heron. Dinner and overnight at the accommodation according your preferences ( low budget-midrange of high class standard) Half board meals.

birdDay 4: After breakfast we drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park and along the way will get to see many bird species including the African Eagle. Full board meals.

Day 5: Today after breakfast,we visit an area that is known to be home to the world’s greatest variety of bird species. Bird species found here includes the Red Eagle, Kingfisher, Great Shoebill, Striated Heron, African Spoonbill, African Crake, Green Sandpiper, Common Sandpiper, Wood Sandpiper, Plain Martin, African Skimmer, Water Duck and many others. You’ll visit the Baboon Cliff, which offers magnificent scenic beauty. You’ll take a launch cruise where you’ll see the hippos, buffalo, Uganda kob and Nile crocodiles along the banks. Day 6: Queen Elizabeth NP. You’ll drive through the Park, which has rich diversity of wildlife that includes elephants, lions, leopards, buffaloes and warthogs. Full board meals.

Day 7: return to Kampala. You’ll have breakfast and then depart to Kampala/Entebbe.
