9 days Gorilla & Chimp

Day 1: Kampala > Lake Mburo National Park.

carhireAfter breakfast, you will be picked up from your place of accommodation by you driver/guide and drive to Lake Mburo National Park, having a stopover at the Equator for the water experiment and pictures, then latter proceed on to the Park entering with a mini game drive in search for wildlife that includes the Zebras, Impala, Topes, Water buck, Eland, Klipspringers, Dwarf Mongoose, Warthogs, Bush Bucks and Leopards among others. We latter check in to the service of Eagle’s Nest for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Lake Mburo National Park. The day begins early  as we go for the  Nature walk  on shores of Lake Mburo in search for  wild life that  includes  The Zebras,  Impalas,  Reedbuck, Cliffspringers, Buffaloes and  Leopards  among  other  mammals and  a variety  of bird life that includes  the  Papyrus  Gonolake.  We go back to the Lodge for breakfast, relax around, have lunch and in the afternoon go for the boat cruise on Lake Mburo for yet another but deferent view of wildlife as they come to cool off at the Lake. This normally takes about one and half hours, we come back to the Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Lake Mburo > Bwindi Impenetrable national park. After breakfast, with our packed lunch, we transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park passing through the rolling hills of Mbarara and Rukungiri arriving Buhoma in the afternoon and check in to the service of Buhoma Community Camp for dinner and overnight.Bwindigorilla

Day 4: Gorilla Trekking- Bwindi. After an early breakfast, with you packed lunch go to the visitor’s center for registration and briefing before you begin the gorilla trekking. It may take about 2 – 8 hours and you should prepare to walk for a long distance, under steep and muddy conditions and sometimes with rain over head before encountering any gorilla. The time spent with the gorillas is limited to one hour due to conservation purposes. The ranger/ guides always brief you on how to behave while with those apes. Later return to the Resort, Dinner and overnight.

primatenDay 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. After breakfast, with our packed lunch, transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park passing through the Ishasha plains, the southern sector of the park, well known for tree climbing lions. Proceed on to the northern sector of the park, arriving in the evening and check in to the service of Bush lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: Game drive and Boat cruise-QENP The day begins early with an early morning cup of coffee and then start  our game drive towards the Kasenyi plains in search for the wildlife that includes the Elephants,  Waterbucks, Cobs,  Buffaloes,  Giant Forest Hogs, Bushbucks,  Hyenas, Lions  and Leopards among the mammal species and a variety of bird life. This Park is said to have the highest concentration of bird species as compared to any Park  in the  world (about  612 bird) recorded in this Park.  We come back to the Lodge for breakfast, relax around,  have lunch and  latter in the  afternoon  go for the boat cruise  on the Kazinga Channel   for yet another but different view  of  wild life  from close as they come to cool off  in the Channel water. We come back to the  Lodge in the evening  for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: QENP > Kibale National Park. After  breakfast we transfer to Kibale  National  Park  driving through  the  Crater Lakes region and  drive  North wards  along the  foot hills of  Rwenzori  Mountain   Ranges, these constitute the  western Rift Valley and form the boundary between Uganda and Congo. With en-route lunch at Kasese, arriving in the afternoon and check in to the service of Kibale Forest Camp, have a free afternoon, dinner and overnight.birding-5

Day 8:  Kibale National Park.After breakfast  we slope down  to the Park Offices  for registration and briefing  before we  start the Trekking in one of  East Africa’s  oldest Forest with trees  as high as 50 meters .  The Trekking may take about three hours  in search for Habituated  Chimpanzees. The forest also harbors  about five primate species that include the Black and White Colobus , Red Colobus , Red tailed, Lhotse’s  Monkeys and  Grey cheeked  Mangbey.  It is  also home to a variety  of bird species  including the rare Green Breasted Pita.  We come back to the Lodge,  relax around,  have lunch and latter  go for a nature walk in the Bigodi wetland which is also very rewarding. We come back to the Camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 9: Kibale NP. – Kampala.
After a relaxed breakfast, you will transfer to Kampala, passing through the famous tea plantations of Fortportal and traditional homesteads of Mubende and Mityana, arriving in the evening and drive straight to the Airport for your flight home. (Depending on the time of your flight).
